NOMINATIONS OPEN SEPT. 15

The 40 Under 40 award program recognizes the industry's rising stars. These individuals are on course to climb the corporate ladder and become influential leaders moving the industry forward. Each honoree will be profiled online on ModernHealthcare.com and in MH magazine.

Key Dates & Deadlines
Sept. 15, 2025 - Nominations open
Nov. 25, 2025 - Nominations close
Feb. 9, 2026 - Honorees published online and in MH magazine

Submit a nomination.

Eligibility
Nominees must be younger than 40 years of age as of Dec. 31, 2025. They must work in healthcare, including  — but not limited to — hospitals, health systems, providers ranging from primary care to post-acute, insurers, associations, government agencies, investment firms, vendors, digital health companies, medical device companies, startups, supplier organizations and patients’ rights groups.

Judging Criteria
Nominations will be reviewed and judged based on the following criteria:

• Specific actions the nominee took in the past year to help the organization achieve or exceed financial, operational and clinical goals

• Specific actions the nominee has taken to influence the healthcare industry as a whole

Required Materials/Documentation
A current resume and head shot are required for submission. Nominations without CVs or resumes will not be considered.

Fee
A nomination fee of $250 must be paid upon submission. Payment does not guarantee inclusion. Multiple nominations for one individual do not influence the process.

FAQs
Who selects the honorees for this program?

Modern Healthcare’s newsroom will select the honorees based on the judging criteria.

Can I nominate more than one person from my organization?

Yes, you may nominate multiple individuals from your organization. Each nomination requires a separate submission process and a fee of $250. Please be aware that Modern Healthcare may use any of the provided information in published material about the honoree.

Will multiple nominations for the same person influence the selection process?

No.

Can a previous 40 Under 40 winner be eligible for the award?

No. Individuals who have previously appeared on Modern Healthcare’s 40 Under 40, Emerging Leaders or Rising Stars lists are not eligible. If a previous nominee was not selected, they can be nominated again.

When will the honorees be notified?

The honorees will be notified during the week of Jan. 13, 2025. The notification will include an embargoed press release template and information regarding licensing, congratulatory ads, awards and certificates.

Will I be notified if the person I nominated is not selected as an honoree?

No, we will not notify those who are not selected as honorees.
